For those who love lamb, grilled pork, hamburgers on the grill - have at it you will be delighted with the pairings. ![]() Naturally people gravitate to beef which is ideal as a complement to the wines lovely tannin. From a food standpoint the wine is extremely versatile. We generally associate these wines with blends from Bordeaux however this is truly a Virginia wine and is a [perfect example of the extremely high-quality wine we see from the Middleburg AVA and surrounding AVAs in Virginia. ![]() The finish is long and lovely and the fruit from the nose and palate stay with you to the end. These aromas explode on the palate and as the wine travels through your mid palate you experience a touch of baking spices and forest floor. There is plum, raspberry, and blueberry - just beautiful. The combination of four Bordeaux varietals delivers the glowing ruby color with aromas of a combination of ripe and stewed fruits. The wine is extremely well crafted and polished. The wine is a sophisticated cabernet Franc dominant wine. This Is our second vintage of Fieldstone which bridges the gap of the old and new world red wine blends. It is also great with vegetables like butternut squash and pumpkin, creamy pasta, and a variety of cheeses.Īt Stone Tower we now have approximately 13 acres across the diverse micro-climates and soils of our property’s southeastern exposure. Pairing with anything buttery –sole meunière, a buttery roast chicken, sauces like hollandaise or béarnaise, shrimp scampi. With this varietal, congruent and contrasting food pairings both work. Our guests have always loved the 2019 vintage and now we have this exceptional wine – just terrific. The Sur lie aging with battonage every week for the first four weeks and every two weeks after that gives this wine a voluptuousness – lovely, soft and round. This wine is perfectly balanced and stands as an example of how stunning chardonnay elevaged in oak can be. On the palate the baked fruit dominates with a touch of lemon curd and vanilla. As it is poured in the glass the nose has a beautiful combination of fresh pear and apple and a touch of apple pie. When this wine is first opened the aroma from the bottle is mouthwatering. ![]() As we all know it is named after our beloved Kristi Huber and just like her is lovely, gracious, and full of life. I told Marissa and Joe that I would keep an eye out on the lighting during dinner and once it looked perfect, I would grab them for just another couple of minutes to take portraits.Hard to believe this is our fourth vintage of our Kristi Chardonnay. Now onto my favorite time of day at Stone Tower Winery- golden hour!! Thank you to Marissa and Joe, their family and guests, and all the vendors for a wonderful wedding day!! I’m sad it’s over but scrolling through their blog post and reliving it brings a smile to my face!Īll the first looks! Starting off with Marissa’s brother, dad, and then Joe. The rest of the night was filled with dancing and guests enjoying the cigar bar outside. Marissa and Joe, you both are such naturals in front of the camera! I love the way you radiate happiness. I was excited when I had plenty of time during cocktail hour to photograph all of their beautiful reception details.īefore the reception began, we snuck off before golden hour for portraits, and OH MY- Some of my favorite portraits ever. I love this! It slows down the day and gives everyone involved time to take a breath. Marissa and Joe really wanted time to enjoy cocktail hour and their reception so we knocked out all the bridal party portraits before the ceremony. ![]() The photo of Marissa giving her besties a thumbs up before walking up to him really says it all- so excited that their day was finally here!!! After their first look, we went to one of the best overlooks at Stone Tower Winery and took portraits! Joe came over to the cottage for the first look. I think everyone watching was moved to tears as she shared this special moment with her family before seeing Joe! Marissa started off the morning getting ready with her girls in the Bridal Cottage followed by a first look with her brother and dad. I knew no matter what, their wedding day was going to be fun, beautiful, and relaxing. From the moment we first spoke on the phone, I’ve been waiting for Marissa and Joe’s Stone Tower Winery wedding! They are both incredibly kind and easy-going. ![]()
